Hamburger Pie

IMG_0732

I have gone back and forth about posting this recipe. Well, for two reasons. Number One, it’s so easy my dog could prepare this. Number Two, it is so good, I don’t want people knowing how easy it is when I serve it to them. Then I thought, you know what? As my Mama says, God Don’t Like Ugly. And keeping things from people is just Ugly. So, here ya go.Every time my Mama used to make this for me, I called it Quiche. I had no idea what a Quiche was except that fancy Aunt Nita (yes. the same one from the Sweet Potato debacle) used to make them all the time. And I thought anything that looked like a pie, was hot, and you ate a supper was Quiche. Well. Maybe this is a quiche. Mama never corrected me. Maybe she thinks it’s quiche too. Anyways, all you need to make this is the following:

1 9″ frozen pie shell

1/2 pound Hamburger Meat

2 Eggs

1/2 cup Sweet Milk (Vitamin D kind for all the Yankees)

2 Tablespoons Flour

1/2 cup Mayonaise

1 1/2 cups Crated Cheese (any kind will do. I always use mild cheddar)

Salt & Pepper

Brown and drain your hamburger meat. Mix all the other ingredients and add to the hamburger. Pour into the shell and cook at 350 degrees until the top is brown and a knife comes out clean.

I’m telling you. Make this one. It takes 10 minutes to throw together. It is so. so. good!

Happy Eating, Y’all.

Once again, if you make any of my recipes, please let me know!! hungryhomo@hungryhomo.com

YUMM! I make one similar to this but I add zucchini and italian blend cheese, and for a breakfast switch-up I brown up a lb of breakfast sausage and use spinach…yumm! Now Im hungry!

  • Am slightly grossed out, mostly because of the mayonnaise. You know how I feel about mayonnaise. Do you think it’d work with sour cream?
