Ok y’all. Nothing, just NOTHING screams Crazy Ole’ Southern Person than a Red Velvet Cake. Red Velvet Cake is the one thing that unites all people below the Mason/Dixon Line. We all love it. We all make it. When we don’t have it, we lust over it. Her [...] So this is about the most waited for dish at my family’s Thanksgiving EVERY Year! My Granny J had 6 children, and for Thanksgiving they were all in charge of 1 thing. Nita (my Mama’s next older sister) was in charge of making this every year. Well, there was that one year that noone knew [...] We will return to our regular programing tomorrow. In the mean time: My Granny J My Granny J was an amazing woman. I could blog for years stories about her. I have got hundreds of stories about Granny J, from saving my life many times (literally) to falling asleep in fried rice. Granny and I had a very special relationship. Born about 70 years ago, Granny J [...] Okay, I love Oreo Cookies. And Pies. So there is only one thing that could make me happiest: Oreo Pie. I used to work at a deli in Montgomery named Chappy’s Deli. They had an Oreo Pie there that I just loved. My stepmom used to make this Oreo Pie, and dare I say…it’s better. [...] Ok, it’s that time of year again, y’all. Now I am going to start giving up all my favorite Thanksgiving recipes. The first recipe is my own Peach Cobbler. Peach Cobbler is a dessert that is so easy and so good, you HAVE to make this. Being raised in Alabama, we have peaches in Chilton County, [...] Ok, so there is this bakery in Flushing called Mr. Tu’s which is across the street from my job and serves these Chicken Rolls. They taste like a chicken pot pie wrapped in delicate buttery flaky goodness. I have to know how to make these. Come on fellow foodies.
